Mike was born on November 11,1962 in Marietta, Georgia
to Gene and Jolu Rupel. Mike's father was an aerospace engineer so they moved many
times while Mike was growing up. They lived for quite some time in Bedford, Texas
and then moved to Southern California in 1972. Mike was baptized in 1972 at a church
camp in Oregon.
On June 25, 1983, Mike married Debbie Williams. They have
three children, Chris,19, Matt,15 and Rebecca,12. Mike is employed at Cinetech in
Burbank where he is a Digital Imaging Production Manager. His responsibilities include
digitizing still images for museums, which also involves restoring and archiving
the images. Debbie has been a homemaker until recently when she was hired as a sixth
grade teacher for the Castaic Middle School . She teaches English and World History.
